About Big Picture 60
Big Picture 60 explains big economic and world stories in about a minute — with interactive 3D scenes, real maps and numbers you can check.
What we make
Each topic is an interactive 3D explainer you can play, pause and orbit, a 16:9 video and a vertical YouTube Short made from the same scenes, and a written article with the full story, key figures and an FAQ.
Editorial standards
- Every figure has a source and a date, shown on screen and in a closing sources card.
- Estimates and disputes are labelled. Estimates say "est."; contested claims say "disputed" and name who made them.
- No fake documents. Reconstructions of official records are labelled as such, paraphrased from the cited source, with no seals, stamps or invented numbers.
- Honest charts and maps. Charts join only sourced points; maps come from Natural Earth data; comparisons that are not about area are labelled "not to scale".
- Current events carry an "as of" date, casualty counts are labelled incomplete, and schematic visuals are marked illustrative.
- Transparency about tools. Narration uses a synthetic voice, and we use AI tools in research and production; see how we make our explainers.
Corrections
When we get something wrong, we correct the explainer and article in place and note the date of the change. Current-events pieces are re-checked against the latest reporting before each update.
